The writer, in this article, introduces Ibn ‘Abbās and his status in tafsīr. Thereby, he first presents the biography of Ibn ‘Abbās, then brings up the narrations related about him. Following that, he talks about the viewpoints of Muslim scholars concerning Ibn ‘Abbās. In conclusion, he discusses the exegetical works by Ibn ‘Abbās and his tafsīr methodology.
