This essay attempts to find commonalities and differences between the two processes of translation and interpretation of the Qur'an. In line with the connections between translation and interpretation in such fields as the developing and evolving trend of translation and interpretation in the course of time, the writer mentions the theological, legal, and literary presuppositions; common requirements such as avoiding the interference of scientific theories and personal tendencies; ta’wīl of the ambiguous verses in translation and interpretation; as well as consistent principles such as layers of meanings of Allah's words, plurality and unity of intention in Divine words, comprehension of Allah's words, discrepancy, frequency and contradiction of the Qur'an readings, and discursive principles of unveiling the words of Allah as the connecting link between translation and interpretation. Concerning the inconsistencies of translation and interpretation, he points out the structure and logistics, variety in manner of expression, rhetorical style and other speech arrangements. In the end, the writer concludes that the commonalities of translation and interpretation and their mutual requirements are more than their differences.
