Abstract

In this article, the writer attempts to touch upon the quality and quantity of Tabrisi’s theological arguments in “Majma’ al-Bayan”. It is indicated in this research that the number of theological arguments amounts to about 335 cases and covers a vast range of various theological issues. In view of the way the arguments were brought up, the writer of the article believes that Tabrisi’s theological arguments have six features: 1. Comprehensiveness, 2. Consistency in repetition of the topics, 3. Directionality of the criticisms, 4. Not using narrations and the reason for not using them, 5. Efficacy in interpretation of the verses, 6. Inventiveness in reasoning. In the end, three theories, i.e., superiority of man over angels, cancellation, and the concept of faith, are reviewed.
