This article deals with and makes a comparison of hermeneutic views of Schleirmacher and the science of interpretation among the Muslims. Areas such as: Definition, the objectives of hermeneutics, the ultimate meaning of the text, normative and artistic hermeneutics, and hermeneutic circle are among the subjects around which the writer brings up Schleirmacher’s views and the viewpoints of the Muslim interpreters about them, pointing out their commonalties and differences in each of the above sections.
