this article deals with the role of religion in society in mutahari’s view. the writer believes that mutahari’s viewpiont on the role of religion in society is based on his humanistic viewpoints; thus, in the beginning, he has discussed basic topi cs in mutahari’s humanistic views, and then has touched upon the role of religion on three bases: emergence of a society, durability of a socity, and maturity of a socicty.
