Abstract

The present article is the transcript of an interview with ‘Allāma Faḍl Allāh concerning his Tafsīr Min Waḥy al-Qur’ān.
In this interview, ‘Allāma Faḍl Allāh answers to various questions about his exegetical method and its characteristics. Some topics questioned about include: the philosophy behind naming the tafsīr as Min Waḥy al-Qur’ān; the consequences and impact of the method used in Min Waḥy al-Qur’ān; the way intellect is utilized in interpretation; the status of narration in the method of Tafsīr Min Waḥy al-Qur’ān; the relation between the Qur’ān and Ahl al-Bayt; the philosophy behind avoiding detailed account of epitomes (or inconclusive concepts) of the Qur’ān; the mystery of the inimitability of the Qur’ān; and the new readings of the Qur’ān and religious texts.
