Methodology of interpretations is among the philosophy of interpretation discourses and one of the newly-established fields which is nowadays of interest to researchers. Getting to know the interpreter’s method would pave the way for further familiarity with interpretations and the viewpoints of their interpreters.
This article addresses and reviews Ayatollah Ma‘rifat's exegetical Method in Al-Tafsīr al-Atharī al-Jāmi‘. A bio-bibliography of the interpreter is presented here so that the reader may get familiar with his biography and works. Here, a description of Al-Tafsīr al-Atharī al-Jāmi‘ is presented, in which the interpreter’s exegetical method is stated, analyzed, and critically reviewed.
In the end, the writer has stated the features of Al-Tafsīr al-Atharī al-Jāmi‘ and regarded its prevailing method to be naqlī (derived from traditions).
