One of the distinguished features of Tafsīr-i Tasnīm is its special attention to the purposefulness of the sūras and dedication of a chapter entitled, "Interrelation of Āyas" throughout interpretation. Ayatollah Jawādī Āmulī has pinpointed the theory of thematic unity of the sūras with a profound outlook and made valuable remarks in various fields including the presuppositions, fundamentals, principles, and criteria of this theory.
In this article, the viewpoints of the dignified interpreter of Tafsīr-i Tasnīm are examined in three fields of: presupposition of the theory of thematic unity of the sūras, principles of explicating the theory of thematic unity, and the method for unveiling the main theme of each sūra.
