Abstract

The present writing is a critical review of the translation of various past tense verbs in five translations of the Qur'an. The method that writer has employed for this purpose is research along with comparison, since cross-checking several translations would not only create no susceptibility toward the translator's character, but it would be more effective in revealing the more accurate translation. Furthermore, picking out the strong points and beauties of each will help come up with sound and appealing translations.
