The Qur'an and the Procedure for Reformation of Culture

Abstract

In this article, after giving a definition of the cultural engineering, the writer stresses on the reformation of culture as one of the major pivots of cultural engineering. Thereupon, he talks about taking the reformative method of the Qur'an as a role model; furthermore, he explains the nature of this method; and then, goes on to divide the features of the Qur'an's reformative procedure into two categories: 1. formal features, 2. contextual features. He points out formal features in terms of artistic motivation, variety of speech, purposes as being combinatory, transparency and expressiveness, repetition and inculcation. He discusses the contextual features by following topics: realism, holding on to principles, rationalism, nativism, scientism, modernism, exploitation of the benefit and loss equation, graduation and step-by-step procedure, and realistic self-image.
