As a culture, chastity demarcates the Muslims' character and conduct and teaches them how to be and how to live. Any society has a specific culture with predefined goals; the culture that the Qur'an presents to the Islamic communities is the culture of chastity which aims at creating sexual security for men and women, in achieving optimum human perfection. A great part of this magnificent culture is contained in ḥijāb. In other words, these two are inseparable, losing their real and genuine meaning without one another; ḥijāb without chastity is in itself a kind of cultural nudity in line with the promotion of perversion. In this article, the writer has given definitions concerning ḥijāb and chastity and then discussed their logical relation from the viewpoint of the Qur'an.
