Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Balkhī has employed the stories of the Prophets throughout his Mathnawī. One of such stories is the story of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). Mawlānā has widely employed this story in his teachings on ideas, ethics, and mysticism. From the episode regarding the Prophet (S.A.W.)'s getting lost, he draws the conclusion regarding Divine nature; and from appearance of Gabriel (Jibrā’īl) to the Prophet (S.A.W.), he utilizes the concept of Divine wrath. Similarly, from the miracles of the Prophet (S.A.W.), enmity of Abū Lahab to the Prophet, the Prophet's encounter with the beggar and the Jews, calling the Prophet as udhun (ear), the apostasy of the writer of revelation, the enmity of Aws and Khazraj, conquest of Makka, Mawlānā has respectively utilized the following conceptions:
God's Power, homogeneity of creatures, the status of the needy, sweetness of death, reproach of arrogance, obscenity of analogy, the role of the Prophet (S.A.W.) in creation of intimacy and friendship, and deprecation of love of this world.
