In this article, the writer first discusses about the motivation of Fayḍ-i Kāshānī for his writing a tafsīr of the Qur'an, and then, touches upon the interpreter's exegetical and traditional (ḥadīth) sources, and goes on to discuss the lexical and traditional features, as well as the methodology of Tafsīr al-Ṣāfī. He concludes the article by enumerating the ruled employed in Kāshānī's tafsīr.
