Abstract

In recent years "human rights in the Qur'an" has in various ways been a subject of interest in the articles of the Qur'an researchers. The present article, however, can with a historical approach provide the readers with new perspectives concerning this issue.
First, it helps clarify the socio-historical dimensions of the early years of prophetic mission (bitha) and draws the researchers' attention to the Qur'an as a historical source.
Second, it would show that the early call unto Islam has been based on right or duty and presents a clear criterion to the readers in this respect. It also views the spiritual issues as among human rights.
