A comparative study of abrogation in the Qur'an from the point of view of Sheikh Tusi and Ayatollah Khoei

Abstract

One of the important issues that have been challenging throughout the history of Qur'an interpretation and science is the issue of abrogation. The advanced scholars have considered a large number of verses that had the aspect of allocation and restriction within the limit of abrogation; But recent scholars have found a special approach to this issue with a new definition. In the meantime, the discussion of abrogation and abrogation is still one of the basic topics of Quranic sciences. Nevertheless, not many researches have been done in the field of explaining and examining the differences and similarities of the views of the early and late scholars on the issue of abrogation in the Holy Qur'an. Therefore, the current research is trying to use the descriptive, analytical and comparative method to compare the views of Sheikh Tusi from the early scholars in the Tafsir "Al-Tibyan fi Tafsir al-Qur'an" and the book "Al-Idda fi Usul al-Fiqh" and Ayatollah Khoei from the later jurists in the book " Al-Bayan fi Tafsir al-Qur'an. The findings of this research indicate that Sheikh Tusi and Ayatollah Khoei disagree with each other regarding the types of abrogation and its cases in the verses of the Holy Quran,.
