This paper casts a critical glance at Ilāhī Qumsha’ī's Translation of the Qur'an. The writer begins the paper with a biography of the translator. Then, he talks about various kinds of translations, qualifications of translators, and difficulties of translation. After that, he recounts the advantages and disadvantages of the Ilāhī Qumsha’ī's Translation. Furthermore, he points out the criticisms made about this translation and, finally, with various examples reviews the shortcomings and explains the literary and editorial defects, demystification, paraphrases, and lacunas.
