In this research some verses of the twenty ninth and thirtieth parts (juz‘) of the Holy Qur’ān, which concern the Resurrection, are analyzed and reviewed from the standpoint of discourse analysis. The objective in this research was to specify which discourse-centered structures are used when talking about the Resurrection and what concepts and contents these structures convey to the addressees concerning the Resurrection.
The discourse-centered structures used in these verses included aggression, popularity, commitment function, and interrogative statements with indirect application. The following can be concluded from these structures: God’s decisiveness when talking of the Judgment Day; warning the negligent and attempting to awaken them; God’s emphasis on the Judgment Day’s being tremendous and fearsome in terms of warning and bewaring the human beings; inevitability and indispensability of the occurrence of the Resurrection.
