Colors used in the Qur'an respectively include: yellow, white, black, green, and red. Among these, yellow, besides being the first color mentioned in the Qur'an, possesses unique properties that are interesting to know. Interestingly enough, the science of chromatics confirms such features that are noticed in traditions and interpretations. Even if it were not so, however, its Qur'anic status would not have been less important than it is. Similarly, the white and black colors which are mentioned in many verses together have many interesting tales to tell. In this article, in addition to giving the exegetical explanation of each of the relevant verses, the scientific views concerning these colors are also dealt with.
