One of the ancient and worthy-of-research types of interpretation is the one that has been named as "Oratorical Interpretation" among the scholars of interpretation in the last two decades and, of course, has still remained unknown. Since the addressees of oratorical interpretation are not only the elites, but also the general public, studying the dimensions of this type of interpretation is effective in restoring its previous prosperity in the middle centuries and reducing the distance between Islamic societies and the interpretation of the Qur'an. In the oratorical interpretation, three major trends of mysticism (Sufism), literature, and narration are influential, of which the contribution of the mystical trend seems to be more than the other two; but until now, the mystical trendology of the oratorical interpretations in the two major sects (farīqayn) has not been explored into. Therefore, the present research, while examining the historical development of the mystical trend, has analyzed its effect on the oratorical interpretations of farīqayn and compared the results between the two Sunni and Shi'a schools. The results achieved indicate that the oratory interpretations have had a direct relationship with the developments of the mystical trend and have been affected by the developments of that trend. Also, the decline of the trend of the farīqayn's Sufism in the later centuries has made the oratory interpretations of the Shi'a more annihilated than similar examples among Sunnis, and this has caused the restored manuscripts of the Shī'ī oratory interpretations in the contemporary era - which are known with such titles as educational and guidance interpretation - to be stronger than similar examples among the general public.
