Freedom is a highly acclaimed concept and attaining freedom and release from shackles and restraints is considered as one of the most fervent human ideals.
Issues such as the quiddity and definition of freedom from the viewpoints of both western liberalism and Revealed Religions, particularly Islam and the permeation of the liberalism into freedom among the Islamic communities and the superfluous Muslim thinkers who lack in-dept religious perception, are the topics brought up in the earlier parts of this article.
Other issues touched upon in this writing include: Islam and freedom; response to the idea of the separation of religious doctrines and freedom; and enumeration, definition, and description of equalities of freedom in the Qur’an, which are varied on the basis of man’s communication equalities. The article goes on to examine the definition of freedom in the Qur’an and its consistencies and inconsistencies with the definition of freedom created by liberalism. Then, freedom of idea as one of the most pivotal branches of individual freedom is brought up, and the viewpoint of the positivists and negativists about man’s having absolute freedom in idea and thought along with the Qur’anic evidences of each viewpoint is presented.
