The authority of the Qur'an means the efficacy of the Qur'an on other man-made knowledge. One of the pioneers believing in the scientific authority of the Holy Qur'an in various Islamic and human sciences, who has addressed this issue more than others, is Dr. Sadeghi Tehrani, the author of Tafsār Al-Furqān. He believes that the Holy Qur'an, as a book of religion, is superior over everything in terms of scientific authority, even traditions, and a jurist should refer to the Holy Qur'an itself more than any other source and get his knowledge and scientific needs from the Qur'an. This research intends to answer the following question with a descriptive-analytical method: "On what foundations has Dr. Sadeghi based his view on the scientific authority of the Qur'an? The results of the research indicate that from Dr. Sadeghi's point of view, the most basic foundations of the maximum scientific authority of the Qur'an are: belief in the trans-epochality of the Qur'an; thematic inclusiveness of the Qur'an; the capability of the Qur'an to respond to modern-age needs; denotation of the Qur'an's multi-meaning words; the expandability of the meaning of the words of the Qur'an and its authority, and the modeling of explanatory traditions of Ahl al-Bayt in referring to the Qur'an.
