This paper deals with the role of intention in the value of moral action. In the beginning, the writer brings up some questions concerning the role of intention: 1. Does intention have any role in giving value to the action or not? 2. If it does have a role, is this role in the value of the action or the actor or both? 3. If it has a role in the value of the action, how would it be compatible with the inherent good and evil, which is approved by judicial court? In line with the above questions, the writer first provides a definition for intentions. Then, he goes on to address the existing viewpoints about the role of intention and to critique them. After that, choosing the theory of the role of intention in the two dimensions of action and actor, he addresses their relation with the theory of inherent good and evil and expresses some justifications.
