One of the challenges faced by Qur’anic interpreters and researchers has been the coordination of religious and Qur’anic discourses over time, especially with social, cultural changes, etc. In the contemporary era, due to the developments of various sciences, attention to this harmony between religion and science is more visible. Muhammad ‘Ābid Al-Jābirī is one of the Arab neo-thinkers who tried to use new methods in his Qur’an research. Among Al-Jābirī's viewpoints, i‘jāz (miraculousness) has a special status; because the issue of miraculousness is one of the issues related to the acceptance of prophecy (nabuwwa) and revelation. In his two books Al-Madkhal ilā al-Qur'ān al-Karīm and Fahm al-Qur'ān al-Ḥakīm: Al-Tafsīr al-Wāḍih Hasab al-Nuzūl, he brings up his Qur'anic topics and in his opinion, the Qur'an is the only miracle of the Prophet (S.A.W.). Some aspects of miraculousness, such as the miraculousness of the Qur'an by its revealer, have been denied by Al-Jābrī. Also, Al-Jābrī believes that other miracles of the Prophet (S.A.W.) are made up by the narrators. This article criticizes Jābrī's viewpoint with an analytical method and has concluded that Jābrī deviated from his scientific method in understanding the text of the Qur'an and also in dealing with the narrations related to miracles, and in the discussion of the aspect of the miracle of the Qur'an, he did not pay attention to obscurity of the textual ambience and the circumstances of the revelation of the verses and this caused the denial of the creator of the Qur'an.
