After expressing the reasons for the necessity of a lexicology of ḥijāb, this article goes on to deal with the definition of tabarruj al-jāhiliyyat al-ūlā(the primitive pre-Islamic adorning) as a Qur'anic phrasing. At first, the writer explains the concept of primitive Jahilīyya with a review of the Arabic poetry, lexicons, and books of interpretation; then goes on to discuss primary Jahilīyya, examining the following two viewpoints:
Primitive Jahilīyya is a time period.
Primitive Jahilīyya is a culture.
In the end, he sets forth his own viewpoint by giving a definition of adorning.
